Fusion

 Module 'Snapshot' power on failed.

I was prompted to upgrade Fusion to version 13.6.3. After the install completed, I cannot resume my Windows 11 VM:

Could not get snapshot information: Insufficient permissions. Module 'Snapshot' power on failed. Failed to start the virtual machine

Restarting Fusion and the system did not resolve the issue.

Solution:

  1. Quit VMware Fusion.
  2. In the Finder, control-click on the .vmwarevm file and select Show Package Contents.
  3. Look for files that end with .lck and delete them. (These files do not contain any data.)
  4. You can now launch Fusion and attempt to resume the VM again.
