Host Machine: MacBook Pro 2.8 GHz Quad I7 Ventura 13.7

Upgraded from VMware Fusion Professional Version 12.2.5 (20904517) to VMware Fusion Personal License 13.6.0.  When I launch my macOS Sierra 10.12.6 VM in version VMware Fusion 12.2.5 it runs normally.  When I launch it in VMware Fusion 13.6.0 it freezes on the login screen. When I launch my macOS Mojave 10.14.6 VM in either version of VMware Fusion it runs normally.  I did not update the VM Tools on either of the VM's while running VMware Fusion 13.6.0. (no longer included - must be downloaded separately).  I did have to downgrade macOS Sierra 10.12.6 VM in order to run it in VMware Fusion 12.2.5 after attempting to run it in VMware 13.6.0.  Is this an incompatibility with Sierra 10.12.6 and VMware 13.6.0?  Should I post a support ticket?

Upgrading VMware Tools on a macOS system shouldn't be necessary as they haven't been updated lately - macOS is a somewhat deprecated platform for VMware and the Tools don't get much attention other than security issues (about a year ago there was a security-related update but that didn't change anything functionally with the tools).

Unless you have a paid subscription for VMware Desktop Hypervisor (or an unexpired VMware Fusion support contract which was a paid add-on from a Fusion purchase) you won't be able to open a support ticket with VMware/Broadcom. The best you can do is to post relevant information here -- that's including the vmware.log files from the offending VM and a brief support information collection -- and some of us here can take a look at it. You can also hope that someone from VMware takes interest in it -If you do that,
