Limit snapshot visibilty in Cloud Director 10.6.x

Hello,

with Cloud Director Version 10.6 the option was introduced to allow User to create more than one snapshot.

While this may be useful it does appear to have some side effects that I would like to circumvent.

One does not just see the snapshots that were created from within Cloud Director, but all the snapshots on a given VM. And there is also the option to delete all the snapshots. In fact, in the Actions menu of the "Virtual Machines" overview there is only the option to "Remove All" snapshots.

Only if I go the VM details and check snapshots on that page I can see and delete individual snapshots

So what can happen here is that a user (accidentally) deletes Snapshots and this could for example cause a running backup to fail.

Also the snapshot limit does not only count snapshots created from within Cloud Director but also "external" ones. This might confuse users as they may not be able to create a snapshot because another one already exists that they didn't create.

I guess it's not possible to somehow switch back to the "old" snapshot procedure, but ts there any way/option/workaround to at least prevent that Cloud Director Org Users can delete snapshots that were not created from within Cloud Director?

Any advice is highly appreciated.

Kind regards,

  Carl
