How do I download my VMWare Wrokstation Pro software?

I have a VMWare Workstation Pro license that I bought before VMWare was bought by Broadcom. I'd like to download 17.6, but the download page says I'm "not entitled"".

How do I make this download work? I've tried opening a ticket, but I can't access Broadcom support, either. I end up in an endless loop of redirects, asking me to sign in to Okta.

What can I do?

You do a search as this has been answered before.    When you get to the download section there are several options, one for the registered version

and one for personal use.   I am guessing you should select the download for personal use.

I recommend that you use the Broadcom chat support channel. Choose pri1 support case if necessary. You should have the following available:

  • the email of your vmware account
  • if possible, the serial number of one of your products
  • a registered broadcom account, ideally with the same email address as the vmware account UNLESS your vmware account was @gmail, @outlook, @yahoo or other free email providers. If it was, you should discuss with the chat support (I learnt during my process that an IT Director or Manager or similar role needed to verify that my work email was allowed to access stuff from the vmware days to tie it to your broadcom account from your current employer or yourself).
