My account was migrated from Vmware.com and I am trying to download both: VMware Fusion and Workstation Pro for Personal Use  using:

  • https://support.broadcom.com/group/ecx/productdownloads?subfamily=VMware+Workstation+Pro

but I am getting this all the time:

> "Account verification is Pending. Please try after some time."

When I try to open a ticket the browser gets stuck:

> "Authenticating the user"

Chat also does not appear to be working; so there is absolutely no way to reach support for help so I am reaching out for help here.

Here's something that a Broadcom support rep had me try --  it got me around the "Account verification" issue:

Log into the Broadcom Support portal.

In the top menu bar, click on your name, and choose the "My Profile" drop-down.

On the "My Profile" page, click the "Build your profile" button.

In the "Build your Profile" page, click on the "Yes, I want to Build my Profile".

In the dialog that appears, click on a product that isn't already on your profile. The rep I talked to suggested that I choose "Semiconductors".

Then click "Submit". If I remember correctly, another dialog immediately was displayed asking for additional information. I filled that out, and then -- voila -- my access to the Fusion downloads no longer resulted in "account verification pending".

Might be worth a try to see if this trick works for you like it did for me.

Hi Technogeezer,
It took a day but it also worked for me!
Thanks so much for your help.

Technogeezer's suggestion worked for me, too. After I'd rebuilt my profile, I was told my request (to access resources for "Semiconductors") would be processed within one business day, and that Broadcom would email me their response. I didn't receive any email from them. But when I tried again the next day (just now) to download Fusion Pro 13.6.1, it worked just fine. Thanks, Technogeezer!

@Steven_Michaud @Lost My AI Glad that this worked for you. The thanks for this suggestion should go to the Broadcom employee (whose name I did not remember) that handled my call to Broadcom Support. Yes, they talked to me even though I didn't have a support contract (if I remember correctly, I opened this call as a web site access issue, not a product technical support issue).

I tried the proposal but I cannot Build my Profile, because I do not have a Site ID.

I have not bought any VMware software yet.

I am a VMware VCP and would like to use VMware Workstation for my test lab.

Do you have any additional tip to solve the "Account verification is Pending. Please try after some time." issue?

Thanks

At this point I would call Broadcom support - that's how I ultimately got my access issue fixed. I would not recommend using a chat or trying to open a case via the web. I've found those routes either had nothing to add or never got a response. When opening the case via phone, don't open a technical support case on Fusion or Workstation. Instead follow the prompts to open a case on web site access issues. Or do whatever you need to do punch through the automated system and talk to a human being.

You might be able to get some advice by posting in the Broadcom Customer Care community forum, but you may not get an answer there. You may be advised to open a case.

Looks like Broadcom has changed things so that the workaround I was given may no longer work. According to the KB article Register for an account on the Broadcom Support Portal and Communities  if you have a basic level account and they think you're registering with a non-corporate email domain (like someone using a personal email address) they won't let you create a profile.

This issue is still occurring. I've tried to build my profile but it's blocked due to it not being a corporate email. I'm just trying to download workstation for free but I'm getting "account pending" issue on the download file. It's been 3 days since I've tried last so I'm not totally sure how to resolve this other than calling them. Does anyone know of an outside repository that has the download file?

Call Broadcom support - that seems to be the only way to get this “account pending” status resolved if you’ve waited a few days with no change. Follow the voice responses to get help for a web site access issue, not a technical product issue.

You may be able to find outside repositories but

  • From a security standpoint, it’s risky. You have no idea if the software is genuine or has been tampered with.
  • External sites do not check export compliance rules that Broadcom is subject to.
  • You may want access to other free downloads from Broadcom such as newer VMware Tools versions.
