Hi,

I can't seem to find any link to download Vmware Fusion Player Version 13 for personal use. I have Vmware Fusion Player Version 12 but want to upgrade so that I can upgrade my Mac from Monterey to Ventura. Does anyone know if Version 12 is compatible with Ventura also please?

There is no more Fusion Player for personal use. As a matter of fact, Fusion Player has been discontinued.

Fusion Pro 13 is now available for personal use for free. See https://www.mikeroysoft.com/post/download-fusion-ws/ for instructions on how to get access. Just beware that some folks are having problems downloading it even with these instructions.

Fusion 12 is not supported with Ventura. You'll need Fusion 13.

Good question. I can download Vmware Fusion Player by logging into Broadcom, then going to My Downloads. If you want to download it for the first time, I don't know.

Edit: I think My Downloads > VMware Fusion should work for first time users. Technogeezer's answer is likely better than mine.

Thanks. i managed to download the 13.5.2 and that is the only version that seems to work at all. The rest just stop at "Initialising VMware Fusion".

It installed and one of my virtual machines nows works but the important one doesn't. It comes up with "Failed To Power on '/Users/..../...vmx'."

Any idea how to fix that please? Also in the Virtual Machine Library you can't scan or add any machines. The Import "+" button won't let you any any path.

I can't seem to reply directly to your current post dated May 25. I'll defer to Technogeezer, but believe Paul will need to know your Mac model (ARM or Intel) and the version of Windows you want to run. ARM processors (M1, M2, etc) are only compatible with Windows 11 Arm.

Thanks. I am running an iMac Retina 27" 2020 and the guest system in Mac OS 10.14 Mojave.

That’s an Intel Mac. As long as it’s running Monterey or later, Fusion 13 will run on it and you’ll be able to use a Mojave VM.

Thanks Technogeezer. I got the Fusion 13.5.2 installed and a MacOS 10.11 virtual machine works, but the 10.14 Mojave machine comes up with this "Failed To Power on" error. Two other virtual machines "can not be found", even though they are in the same spot. I tried adding them but the "+" function doesn't seem to work. Any clues on these issues please?

UPDATE> Mojave issue solved. You need to click the Spanner top right and downgrade the machine from Hardware 21 to Hardware 19 and away it goes. Then I had to install the Toolkit. Still working on the "Not Found" issue. I think it is only looking on a drive that no longer exists, but there seems no way to change that.

UPDATE 2> You can not change the mapping but you can use Finder to go to the virtual machine and double click it. It then opens. I did not upgrade the virtual machine when asked if I wanted to. When asked if it was moved or copied I did "Moved". Then you need to reinstall VMware Tools. It adds the VM to the list in the Library so just delete the old one. All working. Thanks all.
