I'm hoping this is an easy question.
VMware vCenter and ESXi 8.0 both came out October 11, 2022. Since then there have been updates. We are currently at vCenter Server 8.0 U2e and ESXi 8.0 U2b which were released in 2024. End of general support (EOGS) for releases is 5 years and End of technical guidance (EOTG) is another 2 years for a total of 7 years.
Based on my understanding, EOGS and EOTG dates for vCenter and ESXi 8.0 are the following, not counting updates and we must upgrade to the next release (8.1?) for both products by these EOTG dates:
VMware ESXi 8.0
Released: 2022-10-11
EOGS: 2027-10-11
EOTG: 2029-10-11
VMware vCenter Server 8.0
Released: 2022-10-11
EOGS: 2027-10-11
EOTG: 2029-10-11
Do the updates affect ESXi and vCenter end of technical guidance and end of general support dates?
