After changing focus from guest to host, the first key that is pressed still goes to the guest (and vice versa)

Hello,

I run some Macs, each with a single Fusion VM (Win 10 or Win11).

Since some versions of Fusion I see that each time I change the focus from guest to host (or vice versa), the first key that I press is still sent to the previously focused system.

E.g. if I work on the Windows VM in a text document and then change to the Mac side to my Mail App ( I click on the Mail App) and press the Del key to delete a mail, this Del key is sent to the Windows side, so the last character of my text is deleted.

The same happens vice versa: If I work on my Mac with the Mail App, change to Windows (klick on the VM) and press the Del key to remove the last chracter of a text, this Del key deletes the currently selected mail in the Mac Mail App.

Is there anything I can do to get rid of this behaviour?

Thank you!

Hello,

since there are no answers yet I'd like to push my question - did someone else observe this strange behavior?

Thank you!

If you aren't getting a reply, it's possible that others have not seen the issue.

I just ran a test - I'm not seeing this on my Apple Silicon Mac/Sequoia/Fusion 13.6.3/Windows 11 ARM environment - all latest versions.

Can you give us more information about your configuration? Since you're running a Windows 10 VM, I'm assuming you're on an Intel Mac, but other details (macOS version, Mac model, Fusion version, VMware Tools version) would be helpful to see if anyone else is running a similar configuration.

Since you're on an Intel Mac, are you running the Windows VMs in Unity mode? If so, can you disable Unity mode and see if the issue still remains?

Hello,

most of the Macs are Intel (iMac, iMac Pro, 1 MacMini), there's 1 MacStudio.

macOS is 15.5.

Fusion is 13.6.3, running with the latest VMware tools that Fusion offers (12.5.x).

Unity is not used (AFAIK Unity is not part of Fusion any more?).

Thank you!
