  • 1.  Win 11 24h2 guest disk compact broken?

    Created a win 11 24h2 guest.   In the guest I got the disk size as 20GB.   On the VMWare workstation host 17.6 it is 37GB.    I go to compact the disk.

    It does not compact.    Size stays the same.    Guest disk compact broken?

    Followup - I can compact disks on other Win 11 24h2 guests.    Something odd about this one.   Retract until I pinpoint the exact nature of the issue.

    Your guest win11-24h2 is encrypted by BitLocker with clean install.

    Settings ---> Privacy & security ---> Device encryption ---> OFF

    Yes.   Bitlocker was on.    I do not use it.   When I upgraded from 23h2 to 24h2 the upgrade process turned it on.   Did not expect that.
