What PSP we have toSet for EMC Storage

Dear team,

We have EMC VNX 5300 and EMC Clariion CX4-120C8 storage.as a Best practice what PSP we have to set once we take LUN from this storage.

On vmware compatibility site how to check what PSP we have to set

Need ur asisstance on the same.

I will set both for Round Robin... in vSphere 5.1 and 5.5 the default path selection for VNX is already Round Robin: VMware KB: Load balancing using Round Robin multipathing policy on EMC VNX arrays

As mentioned by rcporto, both models (with the mentioned Flare/OE Code) support Round-Robin. However, if the initiators were registered with an older Flare/OE code, you may need to change the initiator's type failover-mode (4) on the storage system, in order for the LUNs to show up with the proper SATP "VMW_SATP_ALUA_CX".

If you have Microsft Clusters in your environment,  RR PSP is not supported.  Make sure you plan this carefully.

Just a quick note. Support for Round-Robin with MSCS has been introduced with vSphere 5.5 with some restrictions though. (see http://kb.vmware.com/kb/2052238)

Yes, you are right, however I generally avoid feature implementation with restriction, unless there is very specific need. The current restriction for RR PSP in MSCS cluster are pretty severe and not worth the mention IMO.

if we have MSCS then what PSP we have to set Please confirm and IF we are not using MSCS then we can use RR PSP, Plz correct me if m wrong
