So I'm playing around in my home lab with different boot methods and I've always been a huge fan of Autodeploy. The issue I'm having is that VSAN appears to require vLCM be enabled on the cluster. When booting via Autodeploy the OS is stateless and runs in memory, all configurations are retained using host profiles.

vLCM requires stateful installs, and from what I read here :
vLCM Support for vSphere Auto Deploy - VMware vSphere Blog

I configure my deployment rules to 'Enable stateful installs on the host.' This will cause ESXi to be installed on one of the local disks.

This seems to completely defeat the entire purpose of autodeploy! Is it safe to say that it's best to simply not use Auto Deploy with VSAN or am I missing something??
