Thank you my friend.
I agree with you: Since Pro is free for personal use, there is no need anymore to get 2 separated products.
Marcelo.

Marcelo, as a clarification to all this.
VMware Workstation Pro install has always had VMware Workstation Player as well. It does not matter which one you use, if it doesn't matter personally to you.
The differences in use are the different GUI and more options in the menu. As for the actual virtual computer use, that you have, there is no difference.
The biggest user interface difference is the better GUI of VMware Workstation Pro, for starting and shutting virtual computers. It is relevant especially, if you are using a virtual computer regularly and if you have several of them. If the VMware Workstation Player GUI is satisfactory for you, then using that is a satisfactory approach.

I'm still struggling... But I discovered with 17.6.1 Pro install, comes the Player also... So, let's keep using the Player version with Pro install... I can't loose any more time on this.

This is the way. I was struggling for a good half hour until I came across this comment and it saved the day. It's crazy that it's now a whole convoluted ordeal just to download such a widely used software.

Hi! The Web Pages are really out there. You need to login twice, even you are a registered user - that's only one thing.
I'm copying here an answer from another recent answer. It seems to work.
By the way, "everybody" needs Pro version, because that has the virtual network editor. Even before, that used to continue to work after Evaluation period. Depending on what you do, you might not want to have ip-address spaces changed in every update or reinstall - with Editor you can get them back.
So I tried the steps to get vmware workstation for personal use:
- You can register with personal email for this it seems. I used @outlook.com
- Go to their support site Home - Support Portal - Broadcom support portal and click Register in the upper right corner
- Enter your email address and the CAPTCHA-code and continue
- You receive an email. Enter the code and continue. Choose a password. At the profile page summary, click "I',m done"
- You should be bounced back to the support page but you are not signed in.
- In the upper right corner, click Login and use your email address and password.
- In the upper left corner, on the gray line below the header, click "Software" (next to Hardware), then VMware cloud foundation and then on the white flyout menu, click "My downloads" (upper right corner)
- On the downloads page, search for workstation in the search box upper right. Then go to "vmware workstation pro"
- In the results list, click on vmware workstation pro 17 for personal use and then the desired version
- In the left corner above the table, click on "I agree to the terms and conditions". This is where you will be prompted to "verify" your details. You need to be careful to enter correct details about address, country etc. Nonsense here can cause your verification to fail and you'll not be able to proceed.
- Once verified, click on the cloud icon after the vmware workstation download to get the installer file.

I will run only 1 VM in a backup laptop. I don't need all Pro features in that machine, so, this is the reason that I install VM Player instead the Pro. The Workstation Player will not be available anymore for free?

What you want to look for is VMware Workstation Pro, not Player.

That's is the problem: in the download list, there is no such Personal Use Edition... Only 2 Versions appears: Windows and Linux.

Hello,
Prior to series 17.6, I can download Workstation Player with no issues, and now, every 17.6 versions appears to me as "not entitled".
Since this version is free for personal use, what I'm doing wrong?
Can anyone point me out what I need to do?
Tks in advance.
