  • 1.  VMware NSX licencing

    Hi,

    I need to arrange licences for NSX on vCenter for a Cisco labs, I'm not entirely certain which licence I need, what are the costs? and is there an upgrade path between licences ?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Based on the use case/features you can select one the licensing models mentioned in VMware Knowledge Base . You should get in touch with a VMware sales representative to know more about the cost/discounts .

    Yes, upgrading of licensing is certainly possible. Watch out for any third party production integrations, they might demand you to redeploy the appliances.

    You can contact Sales person for a License and yes license can be upgraded.

    Hi,

    licensing model for VMware depends on number of physical processors and NSX features.

    Till VMware NSX 6.4.x, licensing model was divided into Standard, Advanced and Enterprise Edition.

    VMware NSX 6.4.1+ offers completely new approach.
