Yes I swipe to the side as I would viewing another desktop.
not sure version of VMWare tools, but I installed with reinstall to get copy and pasting working.
It's a strategy game I need windows for. It was made back in 2001. ever since the reinstall or the MacOS Sequoia I experience this behaviour. I have tried matching resolutions but nothing works.

I'm assuming here that you are running the Windows VM in full screen mode because you say that you are "swiping" to get back and forth between Windows and macOS. Is that a safe assumption?
What macOS version, what Fusion Version, Intel or Apple Silicon Mac, what version/build of Windows, and what version of VMware Tools is installed in the VM? Also, what is the application that's exhibiting this behavior.

Upon reinstall VMware Fusion, I now encounter a daily problem. I switch to windows to run an app , but if. I was to go to MacOs I swipe to the side and able to do what I ned to do and seemingly swipe back. Now the problem as my screenshot shows the app will become in a oddly cut window, it won't be responsive unless I press the tab out Option key to get the the desktop then reopen the app.
In this screenshot it shows it frozen and black screen as it was loading in-between scenes., I have to restart the virtual machine, this was working fine until a new install.
As I stated, this is the same square I get with the application showing, but not interactive unless I tab out to desktop and reopen it from taskbar below. Again this is it when the app freezes and I've just been in MacOS and switched back
