    Posted Mar 22, 2024 01:21 AM

Hi, I am trying to install Big Sur to a VM, but I am getting a "no compatible bootloader found" error when starting up the VM. I am not encountering these issues using Monterey or Mojave ISO's, just Big Sur. I have also tested installing the same Big Sur ISO to a VM on an Intel Macbook Pro - rather than my Mac Pro 2019 (Intel Xeon Cheesegrater) - and it worked fine there.

Firmware appears to be UEFI. Let me know if there is any other details I can provide to help with troubleshooting.

Could you post the vmware.log file of a power-on attempt that is exhibiting the error, plus post a screen shot of the error you're getting?

This is the first screen I see:

Then it boots into this setup menu, where I also get a "No operating system found" popup

Where did you get the Big Sur ISO (or, how did you create it)?
