    Hello,

    Vmware Workstation offers to save VM (e.g. Windows 11) password Windows Credential Manager but does not have an option to remove it.

    I can not find a virtual machines password in the Windows Credential Manager. There are several password in there bit I can not relate on to a VM.

    In german language Windows Credential Manager is named "Anmeldeinformationsverwaltung".

    Does someone have an idea how to find a password?

    Yours

    Holger

    I found that entry in Windows Credential Manager:

    Windows Credential Manager entry
    This one refers to a VM with
    encryptedVM.guid = "{BFD8566A-A46F-4AEB-AED4-0447200361C7}"

    I created a test VM and copied the .vmx files before and after saving the password to Credential Manager. It added a line encryptedVM.guid = "{…}" but it also changed the encryption.data value.  If it wasn't for that, I'd just the guid line on my real VM and then the matching password in Credential Manager, but what happened (or will happen) with the data line?
