  • 1.  VM MAC Conflict alarm on replica vm

    i use vcsa 6.5 and vspher replication 6.5 now after start replicated machine on vm show  VM MAC Conflict alarm but both of mac adress are protected vm and replica machine are different  why show this ?

    This is the expected behavior, since the replica virtual machine will have the same data and configuration of the source machine... anyway, after some time vSphere will change the MAC address of powered on replica virtual machine. If you don't want get that alarm, just disable it.

    We noticed the VM MAC conflict issue on one of the VM which got triggered while cloning. We tested by cloning other test VM from the same VM and noticed the same issue there too. But , while we clone from any other VM in the same vCenter we don't get this issue.

    We checked  to see if there is any MAC duplication in real. But , there was no duplicate MAC observed.

    So, considering this can we ignore the conflict alarm  ?
