VM is disconnected automatically after 30 minutes in macOS 15

I noticed the Debian 12 VM was disconnected automatically after 30 minutes in macOS 15, and the IP address 172.16.96.130 disappeared after 30 minutes as well. At the moment, I need to restart my VM every 30 minutes to fix the issue. Please see the screenshot below. How can I fix this issue permanently?

• Host machine is macOS 15.
• Guest machine is Debian 12.
• VMWare Fusion version is 13.6.

Are you running on an Intel Mac or an Apple Silicon Mac?

If this is a regular, predictable cadence of 30 minutes, and this is an Intel Mac, do you have your Mac set to sleep after 30 minutes of inactivity?

It's running on the Apple Silicon Mac. I have checked all the settings, but I can't find the 30-minute sleeping configuration.

Forgot to ask, is this Debian Server or Workstation - your screen shot seems to indicate that a graphical interface isn't running.

Can you check what the following are set to in System Settings:

• Energy Saver > Prevent automatic sleeping when the display is off
• Lock Screen > Turn display off when inactive
• Privacy & Security >Advanced button at bottom of dialog > Log out automatically after inactivity

And in the Fusion settings:

VMware Fusion > Settings... > General > When closing a virtual machine

It's possible that if you have the "Log out after inactivity" enabled and the Fusion "When closing a virtual machine" set to "Power off the virtual machine" (with the Confirm before closing box unchecked), the VM will be automatically shut down after the user is logged out after the specified number of minutes in the "Log out after inactivity" setting.

I have resolved the issue by changing the Debian 12 network interface to a static IP. Thank you.
