    Hey Guys,

What do you guys think, which is a better product for replication. I am specifically looking at replication and over all stability and performance and feature pack - which one is better?

    What do you think?

    Thanks

    Hi,

We use Veeam v5 for backup and replication for our environment. We have application servers like SQL, IIS, PHP vm's which are backedup and replicated accross sites. There is defintely much more improvement in Veeam v6 if you consider replication... File restore , VM restore and replica failover is very simple and easy . T

Finally I can say  it is cost effective solution and no one need any training . I would say to install a trial version and test all the functionalities.

    Thanks

I'm throwing my vote in for Veeam. Its simple to use, read the users guide in about 30 minutes and you'll be able to do anything you want with the software.

It works too thats the most important part! Two big thumbs up for Veeam.

Good stuff everyone. If there are any specific questions, I'd be happy to answer them (I work for Veeam) or we can move the conversation over to Twitter (@Veeam) or the Veeam forums.

I work for Quest. vRanger is a proven solution for VMware backup and replication. We have 40k+ customers using the product to protect their virtual infrastructure. vRanger is available for free download and trial.

vRanger and Quest has many maket leading solutions to protect Exchange, SQL etc. If you are looking for a solution that scales with your infrastructure, from a brand name vendor you definately want to take a look at vRanger.

If you would like to know more or see a demo, let me know and I will be happy to connect with you.

    Thanks,

    Ha Ha.

Love Kirans reply - sounds VERY salesy - also love the fact that his username is KiranQuest - most likely a sales guy directly from Quest who will of course prefer their solution!

The strap line "If you are looking for a solution that scales with your infrastructure, from a brand name vendor you definately want to take a look at vRanger" - wins it for me!

My personal opinion having used both products is that Veeam is a far more mature product. Yes, they both have the same feature set, but Veeam gets there with less fuss and confusion and will also cost you less time supporting buggy fixes and troubleshooting.

If setup correctly, vRanger does actually work, but needs some good fine tuning.
