    Hi All,

I have a small test environment that I will like to backup some virtual machines on and was considering using the vSphere Data Protection appliance or the Veeam backup free edition.

Can anyone advise as to which one is the better of the two options.

    Thanks

    We use TSM4 VE...

But I test both, VDP and VEEAM, I liked both, in different ways...

But as I said, I did not used any in prod environment yet.

Here is a discussion about what you are looking to, and it seem most people would go with VEEAM over VDP..

If you decide to stick with VB&R Free, check this article How to schedule backups in VB&R Free; might be useful for you.

    Cheers.
