    Dear all,

I have a problem regarding the datastore browser. When trying to access my SAN LUN's with the datastore browser, they will be shown as empty. But in fact, there are a lot of VM's on them. When trying to add a ISO image as CD drive,

I'm able to see the folders and files.

When connecting directly to the ESXi 4 I have no problem to see the files either.

I have already rebooted the vCenter Server and restartet the management agents on the ESXi.

Does anybody has an idea what I can do to solve the problem?

Thanks in advance and Best reagrds

    Sebastian

Did you try using to refresh the view in configuration -> storage -> refresh? This should update cached information about the LUN.

    Kind Regards,

Yes, I tried this several times yesterday and today, but it doesn't work.

I have recognized that when waking up a server from the standby, the datastore browser is working again.

I have removed the server from the cluster, readded it and send it to standby. But now it's working!

    Thanks for your help!

    Best regards

I just started having the same problem on ESXi 4.0.0,181792. I can browse datastores fine when connected to Host directly with vSphere client. I cannot browse when using vCenter. I recently enabled DPM, all three Hosts in my cluster have been in and out of Stanby at least once.

It appears that if ANY Host is in Standby mode, the Datastore Browser shows empty. When I took my one Host out of Standby, I was able to successfully browse all Datastores from all three Hosts. Go figure????:|

    Hi,

same for me. I wrote yesterday that after removing and readding the Host to the cluster and sending it into standby it worked.

That was the truth, but today my problem occured again. The host is in standby, and i'm not able to browse the datastore.

    Perhaps a Bug?

Same happened here. Some datastores where but most where not browsable. We had 3 out of 5 machines in standby. After powering them on it worked again. All Esxi 4.0
