  • 1.  Upgrade Precheck warning "SDDC Manager VM Password expired for user {0}"

    Posted Jul 25, 2024 01:14 PM

    VCF on VxRail 4.5.1 / 7.0.451

Running a precheck on the management domain. Under SDDC Manager | Common Services | SDDC Manager Password Validity, I get a YELLOW health status warning with the error description "SDDC Manager VM Password expired for user {0}".

Neither the root or vcf user accounts have expired passwords, as I can login without issue or prompt to change.

    Any thoughts?

    Cheers

You are saying the passwords are not expired but it still showing as password expired but u are able to login with out any issues .

restart the lcm service and run the precheck again . still persist do the below

Reset the vcf and root passwords using the following commands respectively

    passwd vcf
    passwd root

    Hello Mohammed.

Thank you for your reply and please accept my apologies for not responding sooner.

I had tried restarting SDDC Manager (and therefore the lcm service) and this made no difference.

I did try changing both the vcf and root passwords, as suggested, but I still got this warning.

I can't help but think that the "{0}" part of the error description is supposed to be a variable for the actual account name.

The SDDC upgrades ran with this issue persisting and everything upgraded OK.

    I appreciate your help.

    All the best.
