VMware Workstation 17.6, which was recently released, has some issues, so I can no longer use it and have reverted to VMware Workstation 17.5.2.

The issues discovered so far are as follows:

    1. Windows 11 VM boot error
When booting a Windows 11 VM, PNP DETECTED FATAL ERROR BSOD appears and reboots. When trying to enter recovery mode, driver verifier dma violation BSOD appears and reboots, repeating infinitely.
    * The recently updated 17.6.1 also has the same symptoms. (Is it related to the fact that the installed Windows 11 was installed with TPM bypass in the 17.5.x series?)

    2. Incomplete 2D graphics acceleration
Incomplete 2D graphics acceleration that can be seen in VirtualBox was found (UI is broken when dragging windows, afterimages remain when opening and closing menus, etc., it feels like using a broken (or bad) graphics card)
    * Judging from the fact that 3D games work, 3D acceleration seems to be normal, but I have not checked whether there is an overall problem since I only played SimCity.
    * It seems that there is a problem in Linux VM as well (when you open a terminal on X-Windows and type, it does not appear immediately, but appears when you type the next time)

I hope it will be fixed in the next version and hope that a patch will be provided if possible.

I have the same issue. I have more than 16 base vms, with countless snapshots states. All of them behave the same way after updating to 17.6.X. Installed latest vmware tools and still not working properly.

Had to roll back twice to 17.5.2, since I had hopes that this was fixed on 17.6.2.

Screen rewrite when opening windows, or images, will shows rectangles with missing part of the image. Some windows wont fully refresh until interacting with it. Scrolling on large text/code files will partially refresh some lines and not others, making it impossible to review code.

This is one example screenshot of the video glitch.

If anybody can confirm that his is fixed in new versions, let us know. For now I'm done updating and downgrading.

In case makes any difference, hardware is AMD CPU Ryzen 7 5800H and video card is NVidia GeForce RTX 3070.

Regarding the Windows 11 VM boot error (BSOD), I tested it by changing various settings and confirmed that it only occurs when the Virtualize IOMMU option is turned on. This is still not resolved in the current version (17.6.3).

The graphic-related issue was resolved to some extent in version 17.6.3, but the problem of some residual images still exists.
