  • 1.  Storage Performance - EMC CX 300

Hi there, I have an EMC cx300 attached to two machines, Dell 2950 and a HP DL580. I am getting on both very low performance when copying files using the veeam tool or the datastore explorer, something around 5MB/Sec while on the datastore which is the physical disks of the Dell I am getting 23MB/Sec.

Originally I thought it was an HP issue, but now I see the same behavior on the Dell.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks in advance.

    You mean Veeam FastSCP?

Using Service Console you have few resource and also in vSphere the performance could be poor (and do not depend on storage performance).

If both ESX could see the CX you can use cp instead.

If you have VC you can use clone (or migrate) and this case it will be much faster.

It depends on, to where you are copying. if it is between datastores, as mentioned in previous response it is faster to clone or migrate. Copying to your windows or linux client or your vCenter server will always be slow as the data needs to come from VMFS/array to ESX and then to your desktop
