Skyline is indicating that the qfle3 driver on HPE hosts is out of date and should be upgraded.

    KB is here: https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/52044

The recommended course of action is to upgrade to version 10.0.84.0

There is no such qfle3 driver version - the latest as per https://www.vmware.com/resources/compatibility/detail.php?deviceCategory=io&productid=38150 for esxi 6.7U3 is qfle3 version 1.1.12.0

    qfle3 1.1.12.0 has a download location of https://my.vmware.com/en/web/vmware/downloads/details?downloadGroup=DT-ESXI67-QLOGIC-MRVL-E3-ETHERNET-ISCSI-FCOE-201350&productId=742 , which shows that 1.1.12.0 has a release date of Oct 10, 2020

Q: Is it possible that the skyline and KB article have the version wrong, and that the version that fixes the PSOD is version 1.0.84.0? (1.x not 10.x)

I am experiencing this same issue.

We are currently running: qfle3 version 1.1.9.0 and the latest available is seemingly: qfle3 version 1.1.12.0. Although there is a qfle3f version 1.1.14.0 but this is the "f" driver that isn't applicable in this case from what I can tell.

Either way I can't find the version as specified and have raised a support ticket to VMware support to clarify the situation.

There is a Nov 3 release. I find it frustrating that the Vendor & VMware use different Version #'s and makes it challenging to validate what is what.

    Driver CD includes qfle3 driver 1.1.12.0, qcnic driver 1.0.57.0, qfle3i driver 1.1.5.0, qfle3f driver 1.1.14.0. qfle3 driver supports QLogic 57712/57712MF/57800/57800MF/57810/57810MF/57840/57840MF 10G Ethernet Controllers.

Just validated this with my VMware TAM. Correct Driver is recommended is 1.0.84.0. The KB is a typo and will be corrected.

    Hi

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. There does appear to be an error with the logic being used, as well as the documentation provided. For this, we apologize. We have disabled this Finding for the time-being. That means it will temporarily disappear from Skyline Advisor (upon next analysis) so that we can update the logic and associated documentation.

I will update this thread once the Finding is available again within Skyline Advisor. Again, I apologize for the confusion.

If you have any questions concerning this, or anything related to Skyline, please let me know.
