Repair services for Broadcom VMware software does also not work properly. If you have downtime it doesn't matter whether it's software or hardware. They recommended me to buy support to fix their bugs.

Might be an option if you already had a Synology investment. There are a number of virtualization solutions that are keyed on specific hardware. Not really something a lot of people care for as it requires over-priced hardware with proprietary parts and repair services.

You can take a look on Synology VMM app. We have some devices running to host some Win 11 VMs without problems.

Preparing an exit strategy is obviously a priority. There are fairly limited options at this point for Workstation replacements but VirtualBox is a leader in our testing. QEMU/KVM are also viable but more difficult to get working and is particular about what OS you are trying to virtualize. They seem to drop older OS's which to me is one of the reasons someone would virtualize.
As for your question can you post a picture of your 'annoying update request'? What is your host operating system? Sounds like a Linux variant.

The software is unusable now since Broadcom is involved. We have paid for this terrible quality and now we have down times. Support is not realy possible.
We need to seriously consider whether we can continue to use VMware software for our virtualization platform.
