    Hello,

I have a fresh install of VMware-Workstation version 17.6.1 on a fresh install of openSUSE Leap 15.6. It appears that I have to always run the vmware-modconfig --console --install-all command on a fresh reboot before I start any VM because if not, the VM does not have internet access. I have been using Workstation for the last 6+ years with zero issues so I have no idea how to fix this. Initially I had to disable SecureBoot just to get the vmmon.ko and vmnet.ko modules to even load. I don't see any errors in the vmware-modconfig run so I have no idea why the the system doesn't retain the loading of the two modules.

    Thanks In Advance,

    Tim

    Hi,

You need to install the packages insserv-compat and systemd-sysvcompat.

I asked the question in the OpenSuse forum and got this answer.
