Did you delete files inside the VM, or did you delete the VM files themselves?

Unless you have a snapshot or backup of the VM, your data recovery process would be the same as if you had the OS installed on a physical machine (ie. nothing to do with Fusion)

So you're using vSphere to host the VM? What part of this has anything to do with Fusion?

There is an area for vSphere backup/recovery matters, I've reported your thread so that moderators know it should be moved.

You do also need to look at recovery tools for the guest OS (Windows or Linux)

Both Scott and I work for VMware, believe me when I say that we don't have such an option within vCenter Server or ESXi. If you have not created a snapshot, or created a backup then you do not have the ability to retrieve anything at the VMware level.

Maybe within the VM there are options like a recovery tool. But not within VMware.

I’ve already mentioned twice that you need to look at recovery tools for whatever OS you’re running inside the VM, the fact that it’s a VM is no longer relevant.
