I am running Workstation 17 Pro (17.6.2 build-244409262).
I Bought a new Dell XPS 8960 computer. It has Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-14900K 3.20 GHz cpu,
64GB Ram and NVME drive.
I have several Vm's created but only usually run 1 at a time. Problem is that performance stinks compared to my old computer. I have the cpu settings on the VM I use the most (Windows 10 Pro) set to 1 cpu 4 cores. I noticed that the Virtualize Intel VT-x/EPT was not checked. Checked it and the system popped a message that my processor doesn't support it. Confirmed on intel's site that the processor does support. Got into BIOS and there is NO virtualization settings! Contacted Dell support and they confirmed. Got the sorry you're out of luck statement.
what can I do to increase performance? Regret getting the new computer.
thanks for any guidance.
