I am using vmware replication 9.02  with esx 8.03 and vcenter 8.03

replication work fine when i configure with legacy replication.

(there you can choose automatic or manualy select the VR server) but options works.

now i am configuring for enhanced replication, because leagcy will be deprecated next release.

only then the replications failed with the error : No connection to VR server.

also there is no option to choose for automatic or manaualy select the VR server.

    any ideas ?

    Hi

Enhanced replications require TCP network connectivity on ports 31031 and 32032 from the ESXi hosts on which the replicated VMs are running to the ESXi hosts of the cluster containing the target datastore. Make sure your firewall settings are adjusted accordingly. More details in How do I reconfigure existing replications to use vSphere Replication with enhanced replication capabilities

I would recommend to to test first your host to host connectivity by using vSphere Replication Enhanced Replication Mappings and run an on-demand test

    Hope this helps

I managed to get it working again.  before i was used to use 1 vcenter with 2 host on a different location and 1 replicator. this only worked with legacy replicaton. bot not for enhanced.    now i configured both sites with a vcenter and a replicator and then all is working with enhanced replication.
