  • 1.  More detailed release notes for 17.6.3?

    I was wondering if something more than the official release notes on the web are available regarding changes from 17.6.2 to 17.6.3.

    The std release note web page is a bit "thin" to understand what actually was touched.

    A quick check on my intel based W11 laptop with a Ubuntu guest shows that it is still required to use

    keyboard.vusb.enable = "TRUE"

    to avoid broken keyboard repeat buffer handling.

    It also seems that you still need to enable "Virtualize IOMMU" in the CPU settings of the VM to avoid sluggish behavior.

    It's ok that workarounds exist, but if the root causes have been fixed I would of course like to remove workarounds.

    Given that apparently many people had similar problems I wonder if there was an intent to address them in 17.6.3.

    Thank you!

    See https://techdocs.broadcom.com/us/en/vmware-cis/desktop-hypervisors/workstation-pro/17-0/release-notes/vmware-workstation-1763-pro-release-notes.html - no correlation with known issues / resolved issues.

    Nevertheless it's promising that Broadcom keeps word. Quite a few 17.5.x/17.6 installation issues are gone.
