  • 1.  Issue of Updating Workstation 17.5.2 (Build 23775571) to Workstation 17.63

    I'm having trouble updating VMware Workstation from version 17.5.2 (Build 23775571) to 17.63 on my Windows 10 (64-bit) system. The installation keeps failing and I get error messages. 

    Has anyone else faced this problem or found a fix? Would appreciate any help!

    paypack There was an issue while upgrading from Workstation 17.5.2 to the latest one from Check for Updates option, please refer "Known Issues" section from- https://techdocs.broadcom.com/us/en/vmware-cis/desktop-hypervisors/workstation-pro/17-0/release-notes/vmware-workstation-176-pro-release-notes.html and follow the workaround mentioned in the highlighted KB.

    You have to download the installer file of the latest Workstation 17.6.3 from the support portal and then try installing Workstation from it.

    Image the host (I prefer Clonezilla).    Backup the guests.   Remove 17.5.2.   Install 17.63.

    It is unclear what hardware you have.   It is unclear what the host OS is running.
