  • 1.  iSCSI storage not available after reboot

Using ESX 4.0, with a Promise iSCSI external storage shelf. One VM uses this storage rather than local storage within the ESX server. After rebooting the ESX server last night, this one VM that uses the iSCSI storage now shows Unknown (inaccessible) in the VI client console. Looking in storage console, I can confirm that the iSCSI storage is no longer listed. I'm guessing that maybe this is just an issue with a service not starting on the ESX server, but I don't know how to troubleshoot this.

    Thanks for any suggestions

Under configuration tab, storage adapter, iscsi (vmhba3x) can you see any iscsi target from there? referesh? check whether yor iscsi iniator is enable.

I would check the vmkernel log to see if there are any error messages that will help you troubleshoot.

Thank you for the responses. I guess this one is unexplained - now this morning my iSCSI connections are back on line. Appreciate all the suggestions
