I'm attempting to install the trial version of Server 2022 on VMWare Workstation v17 so that I can complete some testing and certification studies. However, when the ISO for the trial loads it gives me an error that I haven't figured out yet. It states:

Windows cannot find the Microsoft Software License Terms. Make sure the Installation sources are valid and restart the installation.

Does anyone have any idea how to get around this issue?

Issues like this are sometimes related to an incomplate/corrupted download. Please verify that the downloaded Windows image ist healthy, by e.g. verifying its checksum (if provided by MS).

It turned out that the file download was okay. Sorry, but I wasn't overly clear, but I did say that "Windows" generated the error implying that the ISO booted and the installer started. I could have said that better, but thank you for the reply.

The FIX was removing the floppy drive from the VM BEFORE booting with the ISO. Once the floppy drive was gone the installer worked and I have a copy of Server 2022 that I can play around with.  Wooo hooo! Now I can start my studies.

    Hello,

I had the same issue recently. The problem was virtual floppy, so I had to
remove it from VM config and the error did not come up again.
