my first Parallels VM conversion is done. Your instructions worked very well and the conversion did not take much time.
I posted a new thread with a display resolution problem.

See section 1.9.3 "No import of Parallels virtual machines" starting on page 11 of version 27 of the Companion Guide.

I found the unofficial companion guide, but did not see any section outlining how to convert my Parallels VMs to a Fusion VM.
Can you please point me to the right section?

I just downloaded Fusion Pro and installed it on my MBP M1.
I also would like to import a Parallels VM and was looking for the work around companion guide.
Could you provide a link, or tell me how I can find the guide?
Thanks
Gerd

If you're on an Apple Silicon Mac, the import of .ova/.ovf files or Parallels VMs isn't supported. Intel Macs only.
Most .ova/.ovf files are Intel operating systems, so they won't run on Apple Silicon Macs anyway.
there's a workaround in the unofficial companion guide that works quite well for importing Windows VMs from Parallels on Apple Silicon. For Linux ARM VMs on Parallels, I'd recommend rebuilding them.

Hi,
I just installed the personal use version of Fusion (Professional Version 13.5.2 (23775688) and wanted to import an existing VM following this procedure. However, this version does not have an "Import" menu for importing virtual machines. Is the import function disabled for "Personal use"? Or am I just doint it the wrong way?
BR
