    Hi community !

VMware Integrated OpenStack: Technical Deep Dive Demo - YouTube

In this video, near 40:26 (answer to a question asked by a woman a bit earlier), it is said that after the VIO deployment, you are unable to import and manage existing vCenter VMs through VIO.

Is it still the case since this video is from November 2014 ?

    Thanks in advance,

    Laurent B.

    Hello Laurent,

Can you send me an e-mail detailing your use case for wanting to manage existing VM's with OpenStack? I'll forward it to my PM's.

My e-mail address is my VMware Community username (trobertsjr) at vmware dot com

    Thank you,

    Trevor

Even I am looking to solve the same problem. Do we have any way to manage the existing VM's created in Vcenter and that can be published in VIO would be great.

Can you elaborate and provide more details on the workflows you will do with the existing VMs?

    Hi again,

I have to apologize, I didn't see your answer and didn't receive any mail either.

I would go on managing them but through VIO. And I would allow their owners to manage their resources and VM life cycles through a web interface. It is a way to give customers the access to their VMs.

Thanks in advance and sorry for the delay.

    Laurent.
