I have recently paid around 200 pounds for a now-free licence?

I believe that giving this workstation pro licence out for free now is a positive, but I only recently paid quite a large sum of money for this licence only for it to now be given out for free and I have no indent to use this within an enterprise environment as a purchased a personal licence.

Is there any form of compensation or help on this case?

You would probably have to contact the sales location (Digital River or other store) and ask for a refund. Or call Broadcom sales.
