  • 1.  HP SAN MSA 2050 only seen at 90%

    Hello!

I recently set up a ESXi 7.0 U3 for use with a HPE SAN (MSA 2050) of 120Tb.

I have created a LUN with the complete capacity (110Tb because of RAID) and connected it through a Mini-SAS cable from the SAN to the server (HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen 10).

ESXi sees the LUN, but at 100Tb only.

So I tried creating 2 LUNs instead, both of 55Tb each. ESXi still sees the LUNs, but at 50Tb each.

It's as if ESXi only sees 90% of the total LUN capacity.

I have tried to install ESXi with the HPE custom ISO, still same problem.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!

I found the following link which is similar to your post. Let the community know if it helps.... https://communities.vmware.com/t5/vSphere-Storage-Discussions/vSphere-6-5-shows-MSA-2050-4-360-TB-volumes-as-4TB/td-p/1389899

    Yes! That was the issue.

The SAN showed capacity in TB whereas VMWare shows capacity in TiB.

    Thank you  !
