  • 1.  How to get ESXi / ESX physical server serial number ?

    Hi,

    Can anyone here please share the script to get the VMhost / physical server Serial number ?

    I'm using HP Blades and DL rack servers as the VMHost so I wonder if this can be done with Powershell.

    Do you have iLO activated on those HP boxes ?

    If yes, you can use something like mentioned in PowerCLI: Get HP DL server Serial Number via vCenter and iLO

    One thing to note is that the iLO must be configured and on the network.  Other than that, it worked great in my case.

    Recently found this one which works for me fine. By using CIM provider. http://communities.vmware.com/thread/413097 (post number 7).
