  • 1.  Horizon error black screen

    Dear All,

    i am facing an issue regarding vmware horizon 7.6 connecting to thin client t620.

    i have deployed connection server and configured two from desktop pool and 3 to 4 application ( wordpad, notepad, snipping tool etc) from application pool.

    The problem that i am facing is that i can see the application on horizon view from thin client ( t620 ) but when ever i click any app or desktop, thin client shows black screen for 10 sec approx and then returns back to the original screen of horizon client.

    i have created the farm again and enlisted application and vms again but still it does not go ahead.

    Good morning,

    What protocol do you have configured in your pools? Often this can be due to DNS, Network or even a Video setting issue.

    i have configured PCoIP protocol !

    there is no networking issue as i am getting the ping response of the connection server and dns server from the thin (zero) client.

    guide me with the video setting if its possible.

    I should have asked but to confirm these are internal clients on your network and no firewall in between the thin clients and connection server? Ping and DNS could be passing but perhaps PCoIP is being blocked.

    Also, do the connection servers have SSL certificates applied or using self-signed?

    Yeah it is a internal client. PCoIP is not blocked.

    Basically it is for POC of vmware horizon for one of my client. The certificate is user self signed

    What does your connection server settings look like? Do you have any values filled in for the PCoIP secure gateway? By default, I believe this is blank. If it is not make it blank and retest.

    Is this an Instant Clone pool?

    What is the size of the video memory for the desktops, if its two small this can happen

    how can i check it?

    also i am observing in accessing any app be it word notepad or internet. This issue is not related to desktop only.

    it is blank by default and i am not using instant clone!
