  • 1.  Error message when clean installing ubuntu linux 24.04

    I have vmware workstation pro 17.6.2. I'm trying to do a clean install of ubuntu linux 24.04. When installing, the installer shows an smbus host controller not enabled! error message

    ubuntu 24.04

    ... [     161.545519] piix4_smbus 0000:00:0

    7.3 smbus host controller not enabled!

    My laptop is an hp probook 650 g2.

    Does this stop the VM from working in anyway?

    No, the virtual machine stays on, but the linux installer just stops until I turn the virtual machine off manually.
