  • 1.  Datastore disk provisioned trigger for alarm doesn't go over 100%

    Hello everyone,

I've been working for some time with vSphere 7.0. When I wanted to create an alarm, which looks at overprovisioning, I noted that I cannot set a value over 100%. This used to be possible in earlier vSphere versions. Why has this behavior changed? If I only use thin-provisioning on the VMware level, it's possible to get this higher than 100%, and that's what I want to monitor.

Is this a feature in vSphere 7.0, or is there a way to get an alarm which is triggered when a datastore has 150% provisioned capacity?

    Hello,

I know this is a very old post, but in case somebody had the same issue - it seems we cannot manually type in a value over 100% when setting up such an alarm in v7, however we can type in 100 and then use the up/down arrows to increase past 100% and it will stick. I setup an alarm to warn at 150% provisioned for warning and 200% for critical and it works as expected.

    Best regards
