Create a vm from a running PC

Apologies in advance, as I have difficulty in filtering existing response.

Currently have a notebook computer running Windows 11 Pro 23H2.   

I need to create a VM of this running notebook so I can decommission it.

My new computer is running Workstation Pro 17.5.

Do I have to use Microsoft's disk2vhd ?
