  • 1.  converting dynamic disk to basic disk

I've got a 2.24TB spanned/dynamic volume on a file server.  I'm using Veeam to create replicas daily so I've got a lab environment to work in.  The other day, I discovered that I cannot do file level restores using Veeam when using dynamic volumes.  To remedy this, I want to do a combination of the following:  shrink, break the span and convert to basic.  I'm going to start playing w/ the replica now but I'm curious if anyone has encountered this before and if they were able to preserve the existing data as well as file/share permissions too (wishful thinking).

There are the three ways to complete this work for you.  Links: 1. Convert a dynamic disk to basic disk via deleting all volumes on the dynamic disk. 2. Convert a dynamic disk to basic disk via using Partition Recovery Software. 3. Convert a dynamic disk to basic disk with NO DATA LOSS by using Aomei Dynamic Disk Converter
