Connecting Operations and Logs - Storage requrements

Currently a cluster of 3 Log Insight nodes and a cluster of 2 Operations nodes. (All 18.1). If I connect them, will this change the storage requirements? Or will the Operations cluster constantly perform queries against Log Insight, but not copy logs?

I am not aware of any additional storage requirements after enabling integration. It simply unlocks added features and views within Ops and Logs.
