Cloud Proxies status offline after chaining vROPs certificates

Does anyone know how to fix vrealize operation cloud proxies disconnecting after adding custom root CA certificates to the master? 

I tried the instructions on this KB Add CA certs while deploying a cloud proxy in vROps 8.4 or later (83698) (vmware.com) put that did not work.

I was able to deploy a new proxy, but that will not be a good solution as I need to uninstall and reinstall all of the deployed telegraph agents.

I know the issue is certificate related but I am not sure where the location of the trusted root is at on the cloud proxy.

I have checked my proxy in lab and cert location is below, but I'd recommend to open case with vmware to check why the procedure from KB83698 didn't work first. 

/etc/pki/tls/certs/ca-bundle.crt
