Clearing "Cannot Stop" message in VCD

I have a VApp with a VM in it that shows a "Cannot Stop" message. This is in the status column right under Running. There is a small red X button to the left. What happens if I click on the X? Will this do anything to the running VM? Or is that a simple clearing off of the message?

Which "X" do you mean? Can you please provide a screenshot?

Another way to clean these error messages is to do a configuration change on this object. For example, open the properties of this vApp / VM and enter something in the description field, save it and then remove your change again.

Thanks. Misread part of your original post. After adding a description, it cleared. I believe the original item that caused the message was caused by a stuck process that prevented the VM in the VApp from rebooting. Once I cleared out the stuck process, the VM was able to be rebooted, and I think the message was a leftover from that.

Yes, if an error occurs during an action with a VM or vApp, the error message remains until an action is performed that runs without errors. Unfortunately this is a bit annoying.
