Backup Solution for Vsphere 7

Hi All, 

I am going to upgrade my VCenter, VSphere, and EsXi 6.5 to version 7. Currently, for backup solutions, I use VDP 6.1. I saw that VDP had already been discontinued. Is it meant that I cannot use the current VDP 6.1 and that it will not work with version 7? If it is not supported, is there any replacement for VDP from VMware? or should I go for a third-party backup solution?

VDP will not work for vSphere 7 as it's last supported vSphere version was 6.5. Here are some other popular backup tools you can think of:

You can use Veeam in the Community Edition. Up to 10 worrkloads are free of charge. However, you need a Windows server to use it.

Don't forget about Commvault.

I also used Commvault for VMware backup in my last job. We also used VDP initially, but had teething issues with the early version(s).

There are probably more Premium products out there, but we used Commvault because we already had it! it was surprisingly good.

You can use veeam to backup full vm venter.

The veeam manage backup very easy to use.

If you just want to back up vCenter then I'd use the built in FTP backup that is available natively and can be configured in the VAMI. Check out File-Based Backup and Restore of vCenter Server (vmware.com)
