Whenever I try to run some games on Steam, I receive "DX11 feature level 10 is required to run the engine", but VMware is running DX12 (which I believe is better than DX11)

    I already tried:
-Updating DX on Microsoft: It says all driver are up to date
-Update drivers from my PC (all are up to date)
-Installing VMware tools (Also I set Update automatically)
    -Synchronize guest time with host
    -Unisntall and Install again

OBS: I just installed Vmware, I dont understand too much how it works

    PC Specs:
    -i7-8550U 1.80GHZ (3CPUs)
    -3GB RAM
    -DirectX12
    -MX150 GPU

    -Windows 10 PRO

VMware will use DX12 on the host to render its virtualized graphics.

The VMware SVGA3D virtual graphics adapter that the VM sees does not provide DX12 to the VM. Only DX11. Running dxdiag in the guest will tell you what DX11 features are supported by the VMware SVGA3D adapter. It's likely that the adapter doesn't provide DX11 feature level 10 that the game requires.

    I see now!

Paul, thank you so much. I found a workaround.

I can force the game to require DX12 by setting -dx12 on launch parameters on Steam.

    Happy New Year!
