  • 1.  can't access my ESXi portal

    Posted Apr 05, 2024 05:48 AM

    Good morning everyone,

We are trying to reach our server to make some adjustments like how we always did. I can ping the IP, it's alive but can't

access the portal 185.2.82.89 it keeps giving "........." time out.

How can I resolve this issue?  Please help?

We have 2 people still working on this server in VM's but I want to add users and change some settings.

Thanks in advance for tips and tricks.

As a first step, ensure that the issue is not related to a duplicate IP address in the network.

If this is not the case, log in to the ESXi host's console. From there run "Test Management Network".
You may also consider to restart the Management Agents. Please be aware that restarting the Management Agents may affect VMs which are configured for Auto Start!

    Good morning,

Thanks for responding, the VM's are still running the problem however is I can't open the page that refers to our server.

If I ping the IP it's present, it should because we have access.

    https://185.2.82.89/ui/#/login

The above is the login, but no go.

    Have a great Sunday.

I understand that, but the VMs have their own IP addresses, that's why I am asking you to test the host connectivity from the host's console (DCUI).

    Hi Andre,

I am a noob with this, the only VM’s I have used before were VM’s in Kali with Virtual Box installed, so local VM’s.

Today I found out that on 1 of the PC’s the portal can be reached and also the VM’s which were created by my predecessor.

Now I am even more confused. How is this possible?  Those PC’s are in the same office, not even a meter separated from each other.

Where do I look once logged in into the portal?  There are so many options and settings, and like I mentioned before I am in a learning curve

Thanks a lot so far for your help.

    Kind regards.

    That's interesting.

    1. Can you confirm that both PCs have IP addresses in the same subnet?
    2. Is the ESXi host in the same subnet, or in another one?
    3. If it is in another subnet, check whether a Firewall may block/allow traffic from/to specific systems?

    Good afternoon (or morning Andre).

Thanks for not giving up on me Andre

Both IP addresses are in the same subnet, so is the ESXi host.

I will run a double check at my fire wall, we have so far tried to login from 2 W11 machines and a Linux one.

The old PC still can use both of the VM's, the Windows 7 one for programming purposes and the Windows 10 VM

Is there maybe a way I can extrapolate dqta from the RDP to check for info. The old PC is able to login to the VM

without even putting in a password. I am a bit afraid to touch it since I am kind of a noob and don't want to truck anything up.

    Have a great Friday

    Hello,

Did you start SSH service ?

Verified Lockdown Mode status and Exception Users ?

Check the  Firewall (Config-System-Firewall) SSH server ?
